Temperature today: 50C. Who knows? We keep bouncing back and forth between terror and incompetent shitshow. Current events appear to be tilted towards the latter.

A few highlights for today:  Rachel Maddow has a summary of how inept the Trump administration has been in its first 100 days.  Expanding on what she said (above), they are trying to do a large number of things that are evil, and others that are just stupid and pointless.  But, led by Trump, they seem to have little to no interest in actually learning how our government works and how to effectively do those things.

Belle of the Ranch has a nice video on martial law, apparently widespread rumors that it was going to be imposed on April 20 (I never heard those rumors) and why it is difficult to impossible — the US is very large, martial law requires a huge number of troops, and it takes time and organization to build up and do it effectively.  If it is attempted, it will not be a secret.

Elon Musk may be on the way out, but DOGE is still there and they seem to be largely unmonitored and unchecked.  Here is a frightening article (link) about an apparent Russian hack into a database that should be secure.  And this is only one alleged example; we have no idea of the true extent of what they may be doing.

Examples of evil:   currently Trump is trying to undo the Civil Rights Act , targeting Democratic fundraising, and now there are reports that they want to build a list of Jews.

We must be prepared and not let down our guard.
